In order to forgive too serious mistakes and too heavy sins, one must understand that the other person was dominated by craziness.

If you have this notion, you don’t get so hurt with what the other person did against you. Craziness is mental illness, a real disease.

If the other person didn't really kill you with what they did, then you can have courage and hope to go on and find someone else.

If you are a victim of terror though, this is impossible.
My advice is for the worse cases.

Very nice advice. I had my experience of being emotionally broken by someone I loved and trusted for almost 10 years. As to my personal experience, having the mindset that this person is to be pitied because he is a slave of his evil side was NOT effective. It just added extra hurt and rubbed in the fact that the person that you once loved was insane. It just doesn't justify enough to brush the pain and forgive the person. If I were to add to your recommendations, I would add one suggestion.... HOPE. You have to get that spark of hope again to snap out of brokenness. NEW HOPE and LIFE! Once you have a new reason to live/love for... you will forgive the person and realize that loathing him is such a waste of energy. That worked for me.

You are right, Leafless, it is very difficult for everyone to forgive their enemies, because there are people that do horrible things against others.

It is really hard for everyone to think that the person that did something horrible against them, didn't understand what they were doing because they were crazy, and therefore their victims shall not consider their actions as if they were the actions of conscious human beings.

However, this is the truth; the human being is very easily dominated by the wild anti-conscience, and cannot be considered responsible for his actions when the domination is too advanced, even though he seems to be normal in some aspects.

Unfortunately, it is easily said than done. If we could overlook other people's flaws, we wouldn't be humans.
